The services offered to students regularly enrolled at the Federico II University of Naples by the DIETI library are many:
Access to the Library Study Room
Students, regularly enrolled, can access the study room of the library to be able to carry out individual study, by issuing their matriculation number, to be registered and for the entire duration of the library's opening to the public, observing the behavioral rules in use.
For safety reasons inherent to the limited space of the study room which has 34 seats, during the course period (I and II semester) we are forced to give priority access to students of the School of Engineering, while in the other periodicals they can also access all the other Federico II and external students.
Books Loan
Students regularly enrolled in Federico II can borrow short for 15 days, maximum 5 books. To access the loan, you must register by declaring your registration number, institutional email and telephone number. For the information and data protection rules observed in this library read Privacy Policy - Protection of personal data.
The loan is not transferable to other students and is renewable, if there are no reminders from other users, for as long as necessary, and if the material borrowed is widely used.
Support in Bibliographical Research
All students, and especially undergraduates, can ask library staff to help them search for the texts available in the Library or at the University.
To independently search for a monograph in the University Catalog, simply go to the OPAC and enter a keyword in the window (part of the title, author, topic) and then refine the results using various filters, including the library, in this case "Biblioteca DIETI" to limit it to our possessions. In this way it will be possible to verify not only the possessions in the library catalog but also the actual availability in the library, if present or on loan or missing.
Graduates are invited to contact the library staff to ask how to carry out the research and ask which tools to use, online and printed resources are available at the University, possibility to use databases (including full-tests) even from home by setting the proxy server, and more, in order to optimize the recovery phase of the bibliographic material, useful for the study of the work and the drafting of the thesis.
Delivery of Articles in Journals or Monograph Chapters
If in the bibliographic research phase in order to write a thesis work, articles presented in journals or chapters of books not available at the University are useful, the library staff can be requested to retrieve it from other libraries in Italy that have the availability.
Obviously, the recovery of the material is subject to copyright legislation (15% of the total pages).
